Lighthouse Canton Launches Dedicated Wealth Platform For NRI Investors

The Singapore-headquartered group has launched a cross-border wealth management platform targeting non-resident Indians, alongside a new India-domiciled global equities fund.
Lighthouse Canton, an investment house and wealth manager operating in a number of jurisdictions, has launched Global Indian, a wealth management platform for non-resident Indians (NRIs) and overseas investors with financial affairs spanning multiple jurisdictions.
The platform provides consolidated multi-jurisdictional reporting, cross-border wealth structuring and a single advisory relationship covering international and India-domiciled holdings, along with associated tax and regulatory management.
Global Indian draws on the firm's regulated entities in India and GIFT City together with its international platform across Singapore, Dubai and the UK, supported by Keenai, its proprietary wealth technology system.
The new business is led by Sumegh Bhatia, managing director and
chief executive for India and Global Indian, alongside a
leadership team spanning investment, regional operating and
wealth platform roles.
Alongside Bhatia, Global Indian is led by Sunil Garg and Abhay
Laijawala (Global and India chief investment officers), Sanket
Sinha (MD and CEO, Global Asset Management), Prashant Tandon (MD
and CEO-UAE), and Gurjeet Sohi (MD and head Wealth Management,
India).
NRIs can gain access to Indian markets through the firm's regulated entities in India and at GIFT City IFSC, while resident Indian investors are offered global diversification through the Liberalised Remittance Scheme and GIFT City frameworks, Lighthouse Canton said in a statement yesterday.
Citing the market opportunity in play, the firm said that the Indian diaspora is estimated to be 35 million people, the largest of any nation. Remittances to India reached a record $135 billion in the 2024-25 financial year, it said, quoting from Reserve Bank of India data. NRI deposits exceeded $164 billion as of March 2025. Such wealth is typically fragmented across banking relationships in the country of residence, separate custody arrangements and disconnected India-focused advisors.

Lighthouse Canton has also introduced a Systematic Global
Equities Fund domiciled in GIFT City, giving Indian investors a
regulated route into global equity markets. (The Gujarat
International Finance Tec-City, or “GIFT,” is an IFC in
India that to some extent competes with hubs such as Dubai.)
"NRI families frequently hold substantial wealth that is diminished in practice by fragmentation, as no single institution is accountable for the complete picture," said Bhatia. "Global Indian has been designed so that a family resident in Dubai or London, with assets in Mumbai and Singapore, engages with one team, one consolidated view of its wealth, and one coherent set of decisions."
Lighthouse Canton has
set out its international expansion strategy to this
publication in recent years.
Earlier in July, the firm appointed
former banking executive Angelina Saik (pictured below) as
managing director, wealth management in Singapore.

The organisation also recently appointed Michael Darriba as MD, key clients and institutions in Dubai; Abhay Laijawala as MD and chief investment officer for India; Gurjeet Sohi as MD and head of wealth management for India; and Muffazal Arsiwalla as MD and head of capital solutions and advisory for India.
In April 2026, Lighthouse Canton entered a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based investment institution Draco Evolution. In November last year, the firm unveiled a $40 million strategic investment round – its first external capital-raising exercise.
